![]() No big deal in my case, it's not terribly useful any more, given sharp lenses and high-res cameras. Mine still works, but when/if I need a larger system disk that'll be the end. Of course, in that case the reported death of the developer may have been something of an excuse. ![]() I don't know Photodex, but Piccure+ went out of business and many customers were stranded even cloning the install drive to another one zapped the existing license. I wonder why doing the same thing for long-time paying customers is not possible for Photodex? When Adobe shut down their activation servers for CS2, they provided installation files and serial numbers that require no activation. When "Picture Window Pro 7" ceased development, they provided a version that requires no serial number. ![]() If that's true then I think Photodex should provide a patch or perpetual serial numbers as Adobe did after they acquired Macromedia and shut down their activation (validation?) servers. In other posts in this tread some posters have referred to them as "license validation servers" so perhaps that's indeed what they are. I was of the mind that even if the registration servers were some day removed (which I fully expect to happen sooner or later), a properly activated copy of the program would operate at least until it became necessary to re-install it. ![]()
